Experiences: UAC

Projects > Africa > Cameroon

Sara Stephens from Canada stayed from February 20-March 17, 2005.

I have been fortunate enough to spend my three week Alternative Practicum for University in Cameroon with United Action for Children. My goal in being here is to discover and gain knowledge into the way of the educational system in Cameroon, but most importantly into the development of UAC and Jamadianle Nursery School.

My ever so short experience here with UAC has been one of self discovery, awareness, friends, open arms and family. UAC has created an environment that will touch each and every soul that has the opportunity to be graced by this dynamic and inviting family. Open arms and welcoming smiles and voices is what you are embraced by when you arrive. Never has a welcome been as genuine and encompassing as UAC. Inclusively, the Orock family, teachers, staff and volunteers have created a family that loves, embraces and thrives off the success and existence of each other and this project.
